CVD Cutting Tools COATING

CVD (chemical vapor deposition) about 80% of all cutting plates for lathe tools are CVD-coated with one or more layers to improve the wear characteristics. . Due to the high process temperatures, in most cases only ceramics and hard metals can be coated. This process is very well suited for multiple coatings. Suited for almost every plate substrate. Uniform and homogeneous coating is assured. The adhesion between the coating and the substrate is excellent.
